Civil Litigation
Ehlers Attorneys render services in Magistrate’s Court and High Court Civil litigation. Our areas of specialisation in this regard are debt collection, maintenance, matrimonial law, estates and labour law.
Every effort is made to settle disputes between parties out of court. This we do without sacrificing our client’s interest. Our approach to litigation is that while we are robust, we should at the same time be reasonable and pragmatic.
In the event that an amicable resolution of a dispute is impossible without the involvement of the courts, we take it upon ourselves to prepare thoroughly for court by going through extensive research and even engaging the services of counsel.
We believe in a speedy resolution of disputes. Our view is that a long drawn out litigation process does not benefit any of the parties involved in that dispute. For this reason we are also able to bring the parties in dispute together in a meeting in order to try and minimize issues in dispute. This can be regarded as a form of mediation.
Our view is that civil litigation requires a matured, sensible approach for it to yield the required fruit. However, in the event that such an approach fails, we are always ready and willing to put on the robust cap and fight for what we view as the best interests of our client.
